An angry old man

Dear Friends…
I was almost hit by an angry old man. How did it happen..? Let me tell you..
I picked up my last passengers from Empire Hotel in West side who wanted to go to McDugal St and Houston Street. It was a man and his son who had to change their place of stay. The man was very nice and he gave me a hefty tip after I dropped him off. I drove back to Astoria to my night driver. He actually found that there were three bags full of documents, laptop computer, books..name tags and so on…how could he forgot all those bags..?

My night driver got a black garbage bag and put those three bags (those bags were at least 50 lbs heavy) and put that in the trunk. Since I knew the address I thought that I would go very early morning to return those bags. So accordingly I went to that address around 7.30 a.m. Since I did not know the apartment number so I decided to buzz the Super’s apartment. An older very angry man came downstairs and asked me if I buzzed him up from his sleep.

I apologized to him for waking him up..but he did not listen to me. He came running to me..” You Paki..I will bust your nose..I will kick your butt..I will hit you..you MF Paki..” By that time the gentleman and another tall woman came and apologized for his behavior. They told me that they called 311, the hotel, Police dept. but no one could help them as he did not take any receipt from me. He was pleasantly surprised that I went so early to return those items. They thanked me profoundly for my help. Then he gave me $30 for my help. I did not want to take the money but he put the money into my pocket.

The angry old man still kept yelling and threatening me to hit me finally I told him,” One more word comes out from your mouth I will call 911. And one more thing..for an old man you have a very fealty mouth.” It seemed that mentioning 911 did do it’s magic. He calmed down and I drove way from there.
What a way to start my day.
