Stop messing with New York City’s roads. These roads are not your father’s property that you guys can paint it any way you want. These roads are not the play grounds for the Mayor, Transportation Commissioner and DOT. I repeat the roads are not a playground for you guys and you can not just take any chalk and paint anyway you want.
I will keep writing about the new ways of Traffic systems in New York City. It will be series of posts and I will keep publishing those regularly.
Let me give you an example. Dear Readers you make your own conclusion after reading this post.
Look at the drawing on the laft side. This was the old way of driving where 2 lanes of traffic would make right turn and there was never any congestion. I understand the city had to make a Bike lane. There was enough space on the left side next to the car parking area. All they had to do is make a bike lane and divide the rest of the space into two lanes and the problem would be finished. But noooooo..DOT does not work on common sense..they have to show that they are working..so they made a big mess there..Now look at the drawing on right side. Have you ever seen something so stupid..? Road are made straight for a reason but here a motorist has to drive from one corner to another corner like a 120 degree direction. I want to know who is that genius who had this idea..? Did anyone has to approve these or street painters did it on their own..?

The common sense suggests that when you subtract half of the road, there will be congestion and that exactly what happened. I talked with the Gramercy Park Hotel employees and they all said the same thing. This part of Lexington Ave was not that busy area as this area is considered as a residential area. But after this new design there are traffic at all the times and motorists continuously honk horns. It became such a big problem that I stopped going that hotel as there is no place to even stand.

And did you know another secret friends..? This place is a trap to issue tickets by Police. This is a new place for getting tickets. I saw few cabs are stopped when they tried to go the old way that is going over the right side Wasted area, they got tickets for ..are you ready for this stupid invention of the city..? Called “Disobeying the pavement marking ” ticket which carries $130 dollar plus surcharge and 2 points on your drivers license.
