Dear Friends,
What a funny thing happened today. I took a lady to the Bronx. On the way coming back I picked up a passenger from Grand Concourse. It was a very rainy morning so the traffic was bumper to bumper. He wanted to go to Brooklyn Supreme Court and it was a long way. So I started to talk to him. I asked him what he did for living. He told me that he was a doctor. I was impressed by that. He told me that he drove yellow cab for seven years and that’s how he supported his education.
We talked about a lot of things. He was very knowledgeable on many things. I told him some jokes and so did he. We laughed a lot. It took almost an hour to go to Brooklyn.
Just before I reached to the destination I asked him,” By the way, what is you specialty?” I thought he would say something like Medicine, Radiology or Neurology. To my surprise he answered me,” Specialty..? What are you talking about..? I am a Court Clerk. You see those guys who raise the Bible, help the judge bringing different books and so on. There are many different clerks in a court. I am one of them. But it is a secure govt. job.” Then he paid me with a tip and left.
I was totally speechless. I started to laugh. That guy forgot that about an hour before he told me that he was a doctor. I don’t know why did he lied. Court Clerk is a very respectable job. may be he was ashamed of his job. But anyway the main thing is that,
” Never lie my friends. You will forget what you lied about and will end up telling the truth and you will look like fool and of course a lair. And another think which is the most important thing to me is that a lie is the ultimate insult you can do to yourself. Be truthful every time and all the time. Remember, to cover up one lie you will have to lie hundreds of lies and think about it how degrading it is. How can a person call his parents, his daughter or son with the same mouth he lied with..? Your heart should be as pure as a falling snow. Whatever comes from your mouth should be truth and nothing but the truth. And only truth will set you free.
