Human beings are basically not honest at least that’s what is my observation.  Why did I say that..? Let me explain..

Today around 10 in the morning, I picked up a Chinese lady from World Financial Center area..( in front of Stuyvesant High School)..She told me to take the FDR Drive to go to 47 Th St and Madison Ave. I was happy to get a passenger to that destination because the fare would be at least $19 to $20 dollars and people give 3 or 4 dollars tip. I pressed the fare button…but it did not work..I tried to press all the button but the meter just got stuck..so I asked ,” Excuse me..I am sorry the meter seems to have some problems ..do you go there often..?” She answered me, “Yes..I go there regularly…”..So I told her, “ Since you know ..just give me anything you think reasonable..”. She said,” OK..no problem.” I made a turn on the West side highway and for some odd reason ..I don’t know why did I even ask (may be my sixth sense), “ By the way Miss. How much normally do you pay..?” I never ever even thought that she would flatly lie. To my surprise,  she answered, “ I normally pay Ten dollars.” I almost braked on the highway..since the Highway was busy..I was driving very slowly. I became so furious and insulted that  I told he straight, “ You got to be kidding  Miss and you are such a liar. How could you lie for such a small amount of money..? The meter will be around $20 dollars, I know because I drive passenger everyday. You should be ashamed of yourself. Let me ask you, do you have money..? If you do not have money ..I will drive you there free but if you have money  then Miss I am sorry to say that you are not a good human being..you just saw an opportunity to save some money and you tried to take that.. You know what let me drop you safely and get you a cab whose meter is working and you will see how much it comes.” I thought she would be mad but she seemed  embarrassed but otherwise OK. I  made a right turn on Liberty St and  went to Battery  Park City. Got her a cab and opened the door for her so that she can get in to the other cab. I told her while she was getting into the other cab, “ Miss..today you will be so embarrassed and ashamed of yourself that you will not be able to see your own face in the mirror.”

She left and I was looking at her  way and  felt so insulted and violated that I  felt so sad for her behavior.

Really human beings are strange.
