Lease Rate proposal..Highest in History

With all those tickets given by Police agents for any imaginable reasons (some are made up right then just to make a quota), it is so hard to drive on the city..now the garages, where we go to lease a taxi from wants to raise the daily lease to $1000 for both day and night shift. We hardly can make even the minimum wage..think about this how we are going to support our family with so little money we will be making.
Passenger refusal is not a very big problem for the industry. We transport on ave rage 600,000 trips a day and a very negligible fraction of trips ends up in refusals. A driver refuses to take a passenger to his destination for various reasons. The most important reason is driver fearing his safety especially if the passenger wants to go to the Bronx or Brooklyn.

This Mayor did not make this city so safe that anyone can go anywhere without being fearful for his life. He got 10 years of time and the city is still not safe enough to go anywhere. When a passenger gets in our cab..we have no way of knowing what is going in his mind and what is his intention. So if a driver wants to be safe and refuses the passenger I think it is well under the right of the driver.
So the City Council (basically a puppet of the Mayor) proposes that if a driver refuses 2 times in a 24 month period, his hack license will be suspended…! What a joke..(so the City Council and the Mayor will take that driver to their home and will pay all his bills..NOT). Don’t they have any other things to do like blocking Cathie Black or Sadik Kahn..why they have to be after cab drivers..?

It seems the whole City Government including the Pinocchio is against the Cab Drivers. I wish..one day we could strike against the city and stop working for one day..just one day would be enough to topple the Pinocchio..if not at least shake him enough that he would think twice to say anything against us. Friends don’t live like a mule rather live your life like a Tiger.
