I was sleeping on that Tuesday morning as I had a day off so I was enjoying my once a week late morning sleep. I woke up by a phone call from my mother who lives in Bangladesh. This year is the 10th Anniversary of the DAY..the DAY this world changed forever. This DAY in 2001(September 1.2001) few cowards came to our beloved USA and destroyed the fabric of our country.
There is nothing new I can add since that happened so I am not going to say anything. All I want to remind you my friends that Love this country the way you love your mother. Remember Mother and Motherland are mightier than the Heaven.

Today I was going to Central Park West and 97th St. While going through the Columbus Circle I saw a group of topless women (about 8 to 10) crossing the road and went inside the Central Park. About two weeks before I was cruising around through Central Park West and I was stopped by a beautiful woman in her mid 30s. After the usual greeting exchanged and destination was given she asked me straight out..” Sir..what do you think if a couple fights all the time…if the difference between them is so big that there is no way to reconcile..?” She seemed to be very open to express her feelings and I was just taken aback by her bold expression.. Throughout the whole city especially in the Midtown and Downtown area there are many NO STANDING ANYTIME TAXI STAND sign posted in front of Hotels, Bus and Train Stations and the obvious reason is to pick up passengers from those stands. But there are few places in the city especially in and around 26-27-28 and 29th Street and Lexington Avenue where you will also see the same NO STANDING ANYTIME TAXI STAND sign along with few Yellow Colored TAXI One hour limit Taxi Stands. DO you really know the meaning of TAXI STAND signs…? Apparently many of us do not really know the meaning of the signs and regularly been ticketed by the Ticket agents (actually I talked with one of the Ticket agent and he told me that they were ordered by their supervisors to issue tickets for Taxi Stand violations..which means they know about the fact that the tickets were not even legal). Today I had a very nice young Mexican Photographer as my passenger to JFK Airport. Her name was Ms. Quetcalli.When she sat inside the cab she seemed to be a very young girl like 17/18 years old kid. So I was kind of thinking whether I should talk to her or not. I don’t really like to talk to a teenager as I don’t know what to talk about. As you already know my friends that I consider every passenger as a potential story.
So I observed her through the rear view mirror and that’s when I realized that she was not as young as I first thought. Read more »

Today was the hottest day on record..temperature rose to 106 degree and the heat index was about 116 degree.The whole city was suffering. Lucky for me my taxi was working fine..I kept it very cold inside so that my passengers could feel really good. I was busy all day long as many people took cab who normally would not take cab.
